Pecha Kucha Night Review
September 30th, 2010, Sanlitun Soho Beijing,
Lomography China
PechaKucha Night was devised in Tokyo in February 2003 as an event for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public.
It has turned into a massive celebration, with events happening in hundreds of cities around the world, inspiring creative worldwide. Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of “chit chat”, it rests on a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds. It’s a format that makes presentations concise, and keeps things moving at a rapid pace.
Fashion, commercials and documentaries… Photography today is advancing faster and faster and offering more opportunities … But is it always easy, just to push a button and take a photo? From analog to digital, what will photography be tomorrow??
Together with G2 Studio and Get It Louder, Pecha Kucha Night Beijing invited 11 Chinese and foreign professional Photographers and Artists to present their creative work with 20 slides each, discuss their view on Photography and inspire the audience.
